Dear Members:

Welcome to a new year with the MAPD. We are very excited about our upcoming year of lectures and speakers. Our year opens with a fall lecture on November 7th, 2011 at the Sheraton Needham Hotel in Needham, MA by Barry Regan, Vice President of Claims and Risk Management for Eastern Dentists Insurance Company.  The topic for his lecture is:   "Are you in Compliance?"   Buffet dinner is at 6:00 pm with lecture to follow.  Following last year’s trial run, we will continue to offer the meetings at no charge for all members that have already paid this year's dues.  RSVP is required to secure your spot and ensure that we provide the appropriate head count to the hotel.

We are also privileged to be hosting a Pediatric Dentistry Symposium again at Yankee this year.  On Saturday January 28, 2012, Dr. Dennis McTigue will be speaking on Dental Trauma.   This is a full day event with the option of a luncheon.  It has been a well-attended event in the past, please register early through the YDC registration process.

Our spring speaker will be Dr. Andrew Sonis who will lecture on oral pathology. This meeting is scheduled for March 26, 2012, at 6 pm at the Sheraton Needham Hotel and will again be free to members who have paid dues.

If you are unsure whether you have paid your dues through the AAPD invoice, you may contact the MAPD Treasurer, Lisa Campanella at lccash@msn.com or 978-236-1188.

On a final note, I ask that you please join me in congratulating Dr. John Viveiros our immediate past president for all his hard work and a job well done this past year.

I look forward to seeing all of you at our upcoming events.

John Fraone,
MAPD President
