LGBTQIA+ Oral Health Equity - A Pediatric Perspective

Dr. Tyler Sanslow is a general dentist at Fenway Health, a community health center in Boston, MA, with the mission of caring for the LGBTQIA+ community. He graduated in 2017 from the University of Kentucky College Of Dentistry and is pursuing an MPH. He is an active member of organized dentistry, currently serving as Boston District Dental Society Chair, as well as serving on the MDS Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Task Force and Ethics Committee. He is a past MDS Guest Board Member & MDS 10 Under 10 recipient.

Learning Objectives:

• Explain LGBTQIA+ & DEI terminology & concepts
• Describe health disparities in LGBTQIA+ populations and their relevance to dentistry
• Apply best practices in serving LGBTQIA+ patients, specifically as they apply to pediatric patients and their parents/guardians
